Chinese moon launch will be sometime today or tomorrow

The launch window is only 35 minutes each day. It’s also supposed to skip along the Earth’s atmosphere to slow down before re-entry.

China has one moon rover, the Jade Rabbit, on the lunar surface. This craft, launched as part of the Chang’e-3 mission late last year, has been declared a success by Chinese authorities, although it has been plagued by mechanical troubles.

I wonder exactly what that means? Does “plagued by mechanical troubles” = “dead as a doorknob”?

Hmmm…Gunter’s Space Page says it launched around 11:00pm (Pacific Time) last night. Gunter’s usually pretty on-top of launches, so it probably launched last night.
