Test launch of India’s LVM-3 rocket successful

According to Gunter’s Space page:

Payload on the LVM3 maiden flight was CARE, a mock-up of ISRO’s planned manned space capsule, to test the atmospheric re-entry. It landed successfully in the Bay of Bengal about 19 minutes after liftoff.


And here’s a picture of the capsule after splashdown:

According to the ISRO press release, the flight reached its intended height of 126 km, and splashdown occurred 20:46 after lift off.
