RIP, Leonard Nimoy

Sad day today. Leonard Nimoy passed away at the age of 83.

There is no denying his impact on Science Fiction since the 60’s. Spock, and Nimoy’s embracing of the character, is practically an archetype in the Sci-Fi TV drama.

The single best scene of the entire Star Trek movie franchise:

That the fans rioted after Wrath of Khan so much that he was brought back to life…’nuff said.

As far as archetype, of course Data in ST:TNG was the next logical progression, but since TNG sucks, I choose a better, though more obscure character descended from Spock: Dr. Lazarus:

BTW, Galaxy Quest is easily in the top 5 of Trek movies…just sayin’.

Leonard Nimoy didn’t even have to make an appearance to make an impact. The best Big Bang Theory scene evar:

And I thought he rocked as an action figure:

Mr. Nimoy, you will be missed.
