Year long mission begins on ISS

Soyuz spacecraft docks at ISS for year-long mission. NASA flight engineer Scott Kelly and Russian Mikhail Kornienko will spend a total of 342 days aboard the ISS, while Kelly’s identical twin brother Mark stays on the ground as a control for the experiment. Mark has been to the ISS 4 separate times.

NASA’s touting this as a mission to prepare for a mission to Mars. I concur, but it may be more interesting to see what long-term effects there are when exposed to Martian or Lunar gravity for years.
