SpaceX to launch second Falcon in two weeks today

Second SpaceX Mission in Two Weeks Gears Up for Monday Launch. This will be Turkmenistan’s first national communications satellite, TurkmenÄlem52E/MonacoSat.

In case you were wondering where Turkemistan is:

Don’t worry — I didn’t know where it was either.

TurkmenÄlem52E/MonacoSat will be shot to geo transfer orbit, so no chance of booster recovery after launch. It’ll be interesting to see how much fuel is left on the rocket after delivery, though. The last Falcon launch to geo had significantly more fuel left over than planned.

The launch window opens at 3:14pm Pacific and lasts ninety minutes. If launched today, that will be only 13 days from Falcon’s last launch (CRS-6), which will break SpaceX’s PR of 14 days between launches.
