China may be first to land a rover on the far side of the Moon

China aims to be first to land on ‘dark side’ of moon. Chang’e-4 may be the candidate, as it launches in 2020. I predict that even *if* the Chinese pull this off, it’ll be more publicity stunt than actual science demonstration.

As I’ll point out in my Road to Mars through the Moon series, there needs to be a bunch of infrastructure in place before the dark side of the Moon becomes a viable target for landing/exploration.
