ISS back to full crew compliment

Launch, Docking Returns ISS Crew to Full Strength.

NASA astronaut Kjell Lindgren, Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Kimiya Yui launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 5:02 p.m. EDT Wednesday (3:02 a.m., Thursday, July 23 in Baikonur) and docked at the station at 10:45 p.m., after orbiting Earth four times.

Oh — this is cool: The crew will be the first to eat their own crops grown on the ISS. They’ll eat half the lettuce they grow (the other half will go back to Earth for study). I predict they will develop a craving for better crops to grow and eat than lettuce.

Apparently, there was a bit of drama on the flight, as one of the solar panels on the Progress did not deploy correctly. Fortunately, that was the only hiccup on the flight.
