Lockheed upgrades their A2100 bus

Changing Requirements? No Problem, The A2100 Satellite Is Now Reprogrammable In-Flight. This seems like a pretty big deal. Of all the satellite buses out there, I’m most familiar with the A2100 (MUOS, Milstar), and to be able to reprogram it on the fly to change frequencies is a major change.

Satellites outfitted with Lockheed Martin’s flexible technology will be able to maximize revenue generation by dynamically shifting bandwidth to areas of peak demand. The technology can be readily incorporated on a new satellite given the scalability of the A2100 platform.

Pretty cool!

Oh, and sorry about not posting yesterday. I got so busy from the start of the day that I actually forgot to check space news. I must be getting old(er).
